My account has a negative balance. Can I still deposit my stimulus check?
SAFE understands that many of our members are facing difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and we want you to know we are here to help.
If accounts are overdrawn, any deposits are automatically applied to cover negative balances. However, we are committed to ensuring you have full access to your Coronavirus Relief Act stimulus funds. Please contact us if you have questions or need further information on how we can help you.
What other ways is SAFE assisting members?

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect our community, SAFE Credit Union is taking additional measures to help ensure the safety and wellbeing of our members.
An overall sense of wellbeing includes both physical and financial health. As the pandemic poses challenges to both, SAFE continues to respond to our members’ changing needs by offering expanded emergency financial services including Skip-A-Pay options on vehicle and personal loans, as well as on SAFE credit cards. We’re offering our members no- to low-cost short-term loans to help you with immediate cash needs. These loans are such a benefit to our members, providing you much-needed assistance at rates far lower than cash advances on credit cards or from paycheck loans.
And to help protect your physical wellbeing, SAFE provides easy online access to these emergency services at safecu.org/assistance. You can apply for and sign up for these benefits from the safety of your home.
We’re able to do this because we’re a credit union, a not-for-profit financial cooperative here to serve you, our members who give us our strength and inspiration. SAFE is your credit union, always putting YOU first.
